The Hollywood Roosevelt has a history intertwined with the arts. Famously Marilyn Monroe used to live there, the first ever Academy Awards were held in it's ballroom and David Hockney painted the bottom of the swimming pool.

Even though the rooms are a little tired and the layout is far from modern, I love staying there - it's a true product of America own culture.
