While it might be true to say that San Miguel de Allende is a tourist town, it's also true to say that the culture is real. The cowboys (vaqueros) that live in the area come from a long tradition of expertise in horsemanship.
Like any european visitor, I was fascinated by the hats. As a photographer I was struck by how they accentuated the small movements of the head and suggesting an eyeline.
